C, there you are! As if by magic..

And how are you, old companero? It seems like it's been ages since we last talked. Do fill me in with what's been happening.

Oh, that's Amartya Sen, one of my intellectual heroes.

Did you see the recent Clive James interview (in the Guardian)?I'd simply love to hear your answers to the questions. Going to post mine now.

Keep well and salams,

b.

Ah, b! Yes, long silences. I didn't get notification that you'd replied to my comment, just found it this evening. No, didn't see the James interview so I've looked it up and enjoyed reading YOUR answers. Mine? Think I might have to Blog that. And tomorrow I'll even have time to do that, now I've been liberated from writing a paper for the British Quilt Study Group. The research has been 'challenging', the reviewers stern and exacting. It involved reading several books on Sufis and Sufism, among other things. I feel exhausted by it! But next Saturday is when I present it at the annual seminar so there's nothing more I can do now. Books: Proust saved my life! Been re-reading the great work, and a Life of MP, and a truly fascinating and revealing book entitled 'Proust's Overcoat.' Now reading Fagle's translation of The Odyssey and Adam Nicholson's Why Homer Matters.
