I was listening to some Morten Lauridsen with Y the other day and he just said: how can the maulvis not understand this..how can one live a life without music?

It makes me very happy to know that you, too, have come to this work and understand why it means so much to me. I do have this version, as well as those of some male artists (bass singers, mostly,) and this one is all the more moving when one considers Lieberson's fate.
Just got a full set of CDs of Bach's secular cantatas, which I'm living with for a while to get to know them - I'll report more later.
