william gedney (see link on 'places' to the right. john cage. contemplating mushrooms, for some odd reason. maybe he's run out of garlic.
i still think that garlic with mushrooms is a mistake, it destroys the delicate taste of the mushrooms, since garlic is way too strong for them. sometimes we cook them here with cream and dill, this is a very tasty combination.

which mushrooms do you have there? 'oyester'? Not very common in __ but very tasty when they could be found. Otherwise, those insipid 'button' mushrooms are crap (though good for soup).
Er..don't the French always have garlic with mushrooms? And garlic isn't always strong! You have to know how to soften them up! Grilled (whole, with their outer layers intact) on a very, very low flame). Then they become deliciously sweet!
