Should we look at freedom exclusively as an act of the will. The 'true decision' of a warrior is not a choice but a spontaneous action...[a higher fatalism: Allama]. Freedom as the removal of constraints [negative liberty] only makes sense in a field of possibilities given to us.

---Merlau-Ponty.

A religious sensibility, properly speaking, is not a rejection of the world, nor a fleeing to abstraction ('God is not a concept'), as if one could find refuge or solace in one's own thoughts, nor is it an idolization of time ('the end of time') and the world. Instead: speaking properly, a love of the world..

What does it mean to say there is a world behind the world?

What is red?

There is no final understanding. A Muslim saying-though you can't find it: Lord, increase my bewilderment! (or increase me in my bewilderment). Shah Latif: Let me run, run and never find.
