total philosophy

Notes of a comprador partisan intellectual:

What I find so amusing is
how seriously some people take themselves. This love of buzzwords: comprador, contrapuntual, the liberal elite, 'the other', 'western liberal humanism discourse'...this great desire to appear intelligent and 'deep', passionately moved by something, anything, so long as one gets over one's own boredom...you should read one author, and one author only.

Yeah, okay.
But that really sounds like a terrible, whining fanaticism.

Charm, the last corner of the human universe.

---my Hannah Arendt.

Don't like Hannah? Well, that's okay. Err. isn't the whole point of reading not to make an idol of the author you like, to think for yourself..there is no 'total philosophy', or one thing necessary. Foxes, not hedgehogs (oh no, not another Jewish, land-grabbing,anti-Islam,pseudo-intellectual,post-modern punk mystic, empire-supporting, Zionist state prostitute for the bourgeoisie). You're not a freshman. Ayatollah Said, Mufti Chomsky, Lord Russell. For heaven's sake, get over it child.

Sorry to be ignorant about football and intellectuals (even the psuedos)....but the Wender's picture is interesting. Just looked at her site, and fell in love. Can't come to Bagginsandco and leave without homework. Usually, a little better off for it.

I am thinking of how to answer your "open" post. the best way is not to at all.

but i find it amusing all the same, as your response is quite extreme, with us not really knowing each other. i still will maintain that your blog is quite good, with its heavy erudition and quotes etc etc but i was debating something which you have turned quite personal. perhaps "reading" should really lead to patience? and how did you assume that you are a comprador intellectual? an intellectual? a blogger with intellect?

i wish you well and want to draw a line here. i hope you take care of yourself and hope that you can tolerate ambivalence and ambuigity in the future.cognitive dissonance is a hard act to live with.
shah latif? bullae shah? never heard of them. ibn arabi? of course. their relevance? who knows.

so, take care.

Kubla , if you want to dress up your bad manners as "ambivalence" and "ambiguity" then that's fine. But please don't do it here. Thank you.

No, don't think it should lead to patience toward people like you, to be honest.

Like I said, think about why you should bring up 'late capitalism' again. Kubla, I can only suggest-and without being mean-that you consider getting some sort of professional help.
